The Herald's Quest - Devlog 3

August was a super busy month for me -- birthdays, heavy work commitments, that sort of thing. But I did manage to get some progress down on The Herald's Quest, certainly enough to justify a release.

My focus this month was on small quality-of-life updates and UI improvements, using VEXED's excellent mini-medieval UI packs. So I've improved most of the buttons and panels, and changed the inventory/character screen to use tabs instead to make things less cluttered and easier to read. Still lots of refinements to do, but I'm thinking it looks a lot more polished than it did!

The main quality of life improvement I've added was to make it so you could hold down an arrow key to move more rapidly, so there's less chance of giving my players arthritis from the constant button mashing.

I've also made some graphical improvements to the fog of war, making the edges of the visible area shadowed and also shadowing the areas you have already visited, but that are no longer in view.

Still got big things in mind for this game, so watch this space!
